Function 26 explores a technique combining cutting edge DSLR technology with the tried-and-true processing power of the Linux Terminal. There is no Photoshop in this series, only Bash scripting and ImageMagick. Dozens of photographs are taken in a meticulously-lit studio environment, then sent through a painstakingly perfected script that works its magic over a period of time. Results cannot be seen until the final image is already completed, which makes this a treat for me as much as my viewers. As I release more pieces, I may include what objects or models were used in the photos, and I may not. It is a process which leads to discovery, and works of fine art stemming from the roots of this digital age.
